The Smouldering Boulder Freehouse is around 400 years old and re-opened in July 2007 after being completely re-modelled and refurbished. The front bar attracts a regular clientele of all ages with its very friendly and warm atmosphere. The restaurant overlooks the garden through three double sets of glazed French doors and is light and airy. Both the bar and restaurant areas are comfortable with mood lighting and has a contemporary feel.
The Smouldering Boulder is also very popular with the ladies who come in for a glass of wine with their lunch or just a cup of tea or coffee, any time of day, and is a great setting for business lunches.
Real Ales feature Fullers London Pride & Wadworth 6X with other guest ales changing all the time. A selection of premium lagers are also available, along with Guinness & cider. There is also a selection of bottled beers and soft drinks.
Food is served Tuesday to Sunday 12-3 & 6:30–9pm.
The menu is family orientated and changes frequently, most meals are under £10.00 and the Sunday roast; Beef, Lamb, Pork or Chicken is £6.95.
Tea & coffee is available all day, every day.
There is a large garden with decking for smokers and non smokers alike to sit and enjoy the sunshine and warmer evenings.
The ever popular quiz starts at 8pm every Sunday and there is live music/entertainment every Wednesday evening.
The last Tuesday of every month is Live Jazz.
